What to expect
Your first appointment.
Detailed history
Vertigo has many causes, and the story you tell us (when it happens, what it feels like, how long it lasts) is often the strongest clue. We take 45 minutes for your first appointment.
Targeted assessment
Eye movement tests, positional tests (including Dix-Hallpike for BPPV), balance tests, and cervical screening. We tell you what we find as we go and explain what's likely happening.
Treatment same day
Most BPPV is treated with the Epley or a related canalith repositioning manoeuvre, often resolving within 2-3 sessions. Other vestibular conditions are managed with a tailored exercise program.

FAQs
Common questions.
Can you treat vertigo on the first visit?
+
Usually yes. If we identify BPPV during assessment, we'll perform the Epley (or appropriate repositioning manoeuvre) the same day. Most BPPV resolves within 2-3 visits.
Do I need a referral from my GP or ENT?
+
No referral needed. That said, if you've already seen an ENT or had imaging, please bring those notes. They help us narrow down the cause faster.
I get motion sickness, not vertigo. Can you still help?
+
Yes, vestibular rehab can substantially reduce motion sensitivity, including for sea, car or virtual-reality motion sickness, with a graded exposure program.
How is vertigo physio different from regular physio?
+
It uses specific assessment techniques (positional testing, eye movement testing, vestibular ocular reflex testing) and treatment approaches (canalith repositioning, gaze stabilisation, habituation exercises) that aren't part of general musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Will I be told to just 'wait it out'?
+
Not by us. Untreated BPPV can persist for months, and untreated vestibular migraine often gets worse. There are evidence-based treatments for almost every vestibular cause of dizziness.
